Surviving the Christian Roots of Alcoholics Anonymous
by Richard Burns, J.D.
I never had the slightest idea when I entered the rooms of A.A. that I would encounter such volumes of hatred. Hatred of Christians. Hatred of the Bible. Hatred of those who are "Evangelicals." Hatred of those who, like the courts, recognize that A.A. is religious - not "spiritual" (whatever the latter means). How can a sick drunk survive that? In fact, how did I--a very sick drunk--survive that? As a very... (posted by Richard 17 hours 43 minutes ago.)

White is for Summer...And Other Rules of Engagement by Valerie Sheppard
I was going to a birthday brunch on Sunday and was trying to figure out what to wear. I started my latest edition of the “personal fashion show” – trying on ensemble options to see how they looked — and I found this pretty combination of white skirt with iridescent sequins on it and a white cropped sweater with a deep purple... Label Breakers
by John Waddey
Those who read little and think less rely on labels. It might be a brand label for food products, beverages, cars, gas, etc. Those who depend on labels often end up paying more for products than needed. The name brand gasolines are no different than the generic brands sold at the bargain stations but you will pay a dime or more per gallon to buy them. The of the difference in cost of brand name drugs and generics. The same is true of some of the... (posted by John 1 day 7 hours ago.)

Why Tavis Smiley Didn't Hire Me: Three Causes of Missed Opportunities by Timothy Bond
1
Did I ever tell you about my near chance to work for the famous Tavis Smiley? Well, if I didn't, you can read about it in my book. However, to summarize it, I had reached out to the Black Media mogul as a young sophomore college reporter. I was amazed at his drive, his achievements in "fighting the establishment"... Kent, Connecticut is one such town nestled in the quiet and scenic Litchfield Hills in the northwestern part of the state. It has everything you need for a relaxing vacation, including Kent Falls State Park and a picturesque covered bridge. We think... (posted by Wayne and Judy 1 day 21 hours ago.)
Psychic Artist - Me? There's a label I hadn't predicted! by LeahG Artist
1
I have been labeled a few things in my time, mainly 'mad' (in a nice way) but today presented a first in the labels department. I was labeled a 'psychic artist' and this is how it came about... I have a few acrylic paintings on display in my mums shop in Somerset. They gain moderate interest. Today however they gained a... (posted by LeahG Artist 2 days 3 hours ago.)
Cancer And Ignorance, a Deadly Combination by Alan-nz
Most people are ignorant why there is so much cancer now and because of our ignorance we have to rely on our health care providers, which are our doctors for information so we can make decisions on our treatment options. Unfortunately many of the facts about cancer and its treatments in use today are not true and that’s why so many people are not surviving.... (posted by Alan-nz 2 days 14 hours ago.)
A Take on Digital Art© by Arlene Wright-Correll
1
This week email question asks, “I keep seeing and reading more about the popularity of digital art. What do you think of it?” I think it is fine for those who enjoy looking at it and I think it is probably fun for those who know how to do it. I do not think much of it when artists use it to “tweak” their art photos. According to... (posted by Arlene Wright-Correll 3 days 10 hours ago.)
