Helpful article, LM. I'm sure my refund will end up in the tank of one of our vehicles or one of the lawn mowers or the propane tank for cooking and heating or just cover someother replacement for a rise in cost--taxes, food, etc., etc. I certainly won't count on it for something extra or special. Sorry, I don't mean to sound ungrateful; I too will accept it with as much gratitude as I can scrape up. Great article. SEG

Thanks, Sandra, for reading and responding. Yeah, I think for a lot of us it will end up paying for gas or electricity. You don't sound ungrateful at all, just realistic. Have a good week!

The stimulus is really for the haves. Those are the ones who don't need to fill up their gas tank, pay their electric bill or just pay a credit card down a little. In fact that money won't make a dent in their lifestyle in the least. They will get their check and buy or spend it on something or invest perhaps in a Foreclosed Home. The will buy something made offshore and help that nation and its people, most likely China. Americans are also helping China in that China owns and has financed that debt. You, although perhaps you haven't thought of it as yet, will have to claim it as income when taxes come due. Number one there will be no deductions on it so that will place you into a higher tax category. You will most likely owe more to Uncle Sam or Uncle Woo and if you get anything backor expecting it, verses owe, it will be a lot less back and a lot more you owe. So lets wake up Am,erica what is so hard about all this. It it is what it is Fools Gold and there is a price to pay. It is in my opinion a short haul get us re elected see how we good we are to you effort.

Hello, Robert. Thank you for reading and commenting. We may have to agree to disagree, though I do agree with you in part. Did you check out the links, by chance? The first one that gives the info on who will get what tells a different story than a benefit for just the haves. The more you make, the less you receive. I know things are not great economically in this country right now and I know we are in China's pocket, but that goes both ways. They need us as much if not more than we need them right now. I am not saying that is a good thing, but this country has decided that manufacturing is not what it wants to be known for. I'll take the rebate. It boosts my economy. No, I am not blind to the rest of what the rebate entails and I am truly awake. I appreciate your comments.

Yes you make some good points and I did not want to sound so harsh in relpy and if taken that way I am sorry. Yet there is more to this in my opinion then just a stimulus. Let me ask you if we have decided we don't want to be known for our manufacturing then what, retail sales? Just what will Americans have as jobs? The fact is a lot of talk. Technology, common now ask anyone in the business what is happening to them and who gets the jobs. New green jobs, years away if ever. No for average people there is no future. We are in debt way higher then most know, our militray is in shambles in numbers and capability, over taxed and under strength and we make and buy the components they use to defend us offshore. That alone doesn't sound too swift for national defense. One could say read the economic UN Forum of Social Development 2004 and see for yourself what is and has happened. Read SPP and the projections by those in power and the spheres of influence already decided. No it is about time America woke up. If buying a new Bluetooth is the answer we are in bad shape. I do enjoy your writing and as you can tell it is one of my hot buttons. Sorry, no offense intended. Bets wishes and peace.

Robert, no offense taken. I know your views and I agree with a lot of what you have said. I, too, would like to see it all turn around. Our country is not in a good way and we are at risk of losing much more. I don't know how we can turn it around other than Godly intervention, but I am hoping and praying for our nation. For the first time ever, I am afraid for America. When values slip away, all other aspects follow and we are at a crossroads. There is so much more that needs to be done in addition to our financial state. I love our country and believe there is none better in the world, but we have not been good stewards of the abilities God gave us. In my area we have a state senator that does listen to the people and is slowly making change here. I have hope that this is the beginning of a turnaround, at least here in Texas. But, in the meantime, even if it is a little band-aid when we need stitches, this stimulus package may help. It may not. We will have to wait and see. In the meantime, thanks for this dialogue. You may be telling me "I told you so." It is always good to read others thoughts. Have a good evening.

Just got around to reading your points in this article. Well written and knowledgeable. I am truly concerned about our great America and the countless problems we have and are still facing. I am but one voice and more often than not, I don't agree with much that is going on. I vote, I pray, and I state my opinions. Oh well . . .
