I must say yes.

I have started a site so need to keep tabs on it. I also write/podcast/blog for many sites so I like to keep tabs on where they are in relation to each other.

I Google myself more than I tweet. There are a surprisingly number of us, too. I get a kick out of doing this.

Yes. I have come up as the first result for my name, or at least on the first page of results, since 1995. This just goes to show how few people of note share my name :)

If you are hoping to 'make a name' for yourself as a writer, it is an EXCELLENT idea to Google yourself; to see who has posted your articles on their sites, to see how much your readership is growing, and to find sites that may be of value to you in your 'quest' to expand your readership.

Plus...it's kinda fun!
