Are fruits and vegetables as healthy a choice as physicians deem them to be?

Yes. The advice to eat plenty of different fruit and vegetables has remained constant for decades, and the health benefits are well documented.

Of course, there are specific fruits and vegetables that can be unhealthy if eaten excessively, but in general a diet containing a large proportion of fruit and veg, with plenty of variety, is the healthiest.

As long as you're not stuffing them in your ears or up your nose.
