Just curious if you see jobs being added in your area or is the recession still keeping the job market tight?
Answers to this question:Yes, this is actually in line with my current profession. I can say that the economy as a whole is in expansion mode again.
For me personnaly, I don't think so, if there are you can not really tell.

I am going to write this in reference to America as a country as my answer doesn't apply to all countries worldwide. Many companies are hiring again and actually have "weathered the storm" of this economy nicely. The US economy is evolving to a "serviced' based economy where job creation is moving away from the manufacturing sector and towards the services sector. This is neither good nor bad and only an evolutionary step of an industrialized nation. During the 19th and 20th centuries our country did the same thing where jobs and commerce moved from agriculture to manufacturing.
There is evidence that our country is hiring again if you look in the right places. I am not going to use this answer to give credit to any certain corporation, but "service" based business sectors are hiring. Professional service workers, such as medical workers, food service, professional consultants, and customer service representatives are very much in demand.
To find the evidence that companies are hiring, don't focus on the front page news story talking about another auto maker or retail giant layoff. Read your city's local business journal or research US companies focused on providing services instead of goods for sale.
Nope - not around here. Not much building either.

I hope so, I was laid off on February 3rd.
Absolutely not and i truly hope it changes soon.
I think the country is starting to add jobs again. I think it is only happening slowly, and it is going to take a while to take full effect.
nop
Latest stats show that more people are losing their jobs than being hired.
Not in our area. We live in a college town. The retailers mostly hire students for a low wage. There is no industry. Jobs are definitely flat.
I read an article a little while ago concerning employment in the U.S. To put it quite bluntly, most of the jobs that have been cut in the United States were blue collar workers. I don't know if you noticed, but the really high end jobs didn't suffer anywhere near as much. Damn investment banks are making twice as much as before. Please excuse the language, I'm angry.
Here in my area, Rochester, MN, the employment scene is a tiiiiiiiiiny bit better than last year. It picked up after the first week of January.
Anthony Allen put it nicely and I think he's right. The really pathetic part is the U.S. is indeed moving toward a service economy and ultimately away from Super Power status.
That really stinks if you ask me. I think tariffs on foreign made goods should be jacked through the roof, and the government should make a serious attempt to bring manufacturing back instead of letting all the corporations desert the country that made them rich.
Yes, wipro hiring in india
» Answer from Thomas Kong Answer given 2 years 97 days ago.definitely......grads are finding it darn eaasy to get jobs nowadays
There are many places and industries where the job market is not affected by the recession including nursing and healthcare professions, educators, and computer related jobs. Employers are looking for advanced skill sets as well as continuing education.
Most job growth has been in the government. Not in the private sector.
The stats say no!
No, I was laid off in February and it is brutal out there. I have been looking since Ocotber due to a suspicion of the eminent lay off and I am having a hard time getting a respone let alone an interview.
» Answer from Thomas Kong Answer given 2 years 82 days ago.definitely....the hiring has been quite ferocious
I know a few businesses hoping that health care reform passes so that they can hire. I suspect this would be a big boost to hiring if/when it finally passes.
i have not yet discover it now! i will just post it here if there is. =)
» Answer from Hendrick Brun Answer given 2 years 63 days ago.I do see evidence of jobs hiring but I also see a growing number of employers firing to hire employees at a much lower rate.
