Jesus healed the sick, even if they couldn't afford health insurance. Why do some Christians think the government shouldn't try and do the same?

I'm a Christian and I think all people should receive healing treatment whether they have insurance, money, or nothing at all. And if it takes the government to do this, then it should.

It is a mystery to me how people's politics can be so at odds from their faith (or other beliefs) sometimes.

It is a mystery to me too Ben. I don't actually know how it can be two separate things. To me the faith should always show in people's opinions. Some people are really good at compartmentalizing.
