Have you ever purposely mis-spelled a wurd so you could play with the Spell Checker?

No, not purposefully. Over all my spelling is gneraly on target unless I use spell check and accidentally let it tell me what to do. For instance, in real estate ads I use frig a lot. Spell check wants to correct it to frog. If I am not paying attention to spell check's idiosyncracies, I submit an expensive ad touting a home with a frog.

I tend to have an online dictionary open to help in choosing the write (sic) words sometimes.

Yes, I've done that. I used to consider myself a wordsmith but other priorities have taken over and it's good to be able to spell at all! Thank God for spellchecker!
