I bought a bunch of LED lights (come to think of it, we bought LED Christmas lights, too) which I've calculated will pay for themselves after 5 years of use. If they don't last that long, I guess I paid money just to say I bought a bunch of LED lights.

Bruce, Your LED's should last you much longer than 5 years.

We live 17 miles from the nearest grocery store and that one is mostly too high to shop at - I combine trips (get groceries and put in a cooler before church in a town 30 miles away) When I go to Colorado Springs I have a huge list and sometimes I run out of day before I run out of list and my hubby and I ride together and then he takes a company truck to work. We turn furnace way down when we are gone for the day (not sure if that helps really or not)

Marijo, Combining trips seems almost a necessity when you live so far away. Turning down the thermostat will save a lot too.

Absolutely nothing, of course. What could conserve more energy than this?

Just planning to stay at home, relax on my bed all day. Saves lots and lots of energy. :-) My laptop is just by my bedside. The only thing is, it sucks up a lot of electricity.

This year probably I would be responsible enough to turn off all the appliances that are not in used. In that way I can help not only myself and my family, but also the world that is now experiencing sudden climate change.

I'm working on saving my mental and emotional energy the hardest. These power outlets drain the most energy from all of us I reckon!

I am going to use less electricity by turning the heat down this winter. I am only doing that because the electric bill is too high, and not because some government bureaucrat says we are running out of energy.
