The rights to freedom of speech, assembly, press, and religion. All great social movements, from the Civil Rights struggle to the Feminist movement, have all used these rights extensively. The philosophers of equality needed freedom of conscience, so that they could develop and explain their own ideas about the social order. The activists need the right to speech and press in order to educate others, and the organizers need the right to assembly to demonstrate. All the important rights and privileges we enjoy today were born from these rights.

The freedom to worship, though all are slipping away.

President Obama seems to be targeting Fox news and the liberal spin we get in the media shows where freedom of the press has gone. Ever hear of a liberal talk show? There wouldn't be any Rush Limbaughs if the major news services weren't so biased.

Freedom of speech? Political correctness is a tool used to suppress that. Race, religion, and sexual orientation are pretty much off limit issues of discussion. Funny how it is politically correct to blast Christianity but politically incorrect to say anything against Islam or other religions.

You're dreaming, Charlie.

If you recall, if you can remember, during WW2, Japanese AMERICAN CITIZENS were rounded up, taken from their homes and put on buses and trains and sent to detention camps with no hearings, no trials, no show-causes, and they suffered with the total losses of their businesses, their homes and their properties.

These were AMERICAN CITIZENS.

If our government could do this then you now know that we HAVE NO civil rights; we have only civil PRIVILEGES all of which can be simply taken away.
