I was a philatelists by association. It was my husband's hobby when I first met him and I helped him with it. We still have most of his collection all these many years later.

I was one when I was about 9, had quite a nice (although not valuable) collection, from all around the world. No idea where its got to though :(
My father started mine,50 years ago,i have a selection of thousands some maybe worth a few dollars,my children have them now but it looks like the grandchildren would have to start collecting again.
It used to be a hobby as a child. I still have the small collection as a souvenir.
When I was young, I had pen pals from different countries and it started my stamp collection. I used to enlarge the picture or image (mentally) in the stamps and imagined I was there.
I have been collecting stamps for over 40 years.
