Have the kids come by and take the cotton from the bag?

That's one possibility, but mostly they cut open the end of one sack and sewed another to it. This made one long train of a sack. They could bring in nearly 200 pounds in one sack load that way. If you read my books, you will learn all about the luxury of cotton picking!
