Pay them because they do say "MONEY TALKS"
Well, the person with the most points on September 15th gets $100. I Guess that's not enough to interest most people?
I'm sure that is enough to grab people's interest, but it does worry me that people might play the system to get the money, by spamming dull questions / answers, and exploiting the most of the 200 points back thing

Some ideas:
• Give a set amount of points also for asking questions
• No self promotion, understood but people may have A's related to their expertise so asking a question, and selecting the best answer is fine but maybe they can expound on the answer. They do not have to include their website addy here. That can be found on the author's page if posted. So, do something to entice business owners to have an additional "free" marketing tool with As&Qs.
• Pick a Q of the Day!
• Be patient. :) Give it time.
Disclaimer: I am not asking for myself. I need points to play but I do not have to be considered in contests or the point system. I'd do this for free, that kinda thing! It's a great deal of fun. I was a pro at YooHoo Answers.
Hmmm, question of the day. And it hasn't been 24 hours yet. It hasn't been an hour yet.
It's a good thing I'm not task oriented or you would be driving me crazy!
LOL ... you are a magician! I see it on the homepage already. Another idea. LOL
When you add a new feature, it sorta blends in for awhile without being noticed. I'm recalling Brianna's comments in Suzy's article about not knowing the Qs&As were there. Can you have the text blinking for a day or two, at least a day so it gets noticed?
Ok, but if I did this it would appear that you had me in on a leash and at the end of a whip.
LOL ... NOoo way. I leave all that up to Mrs. Bruce!
It is blinking, though. wooo hooo!
"Give a set amount of points also for asking questions"
I guess this doesn't follow KISS but if I took my 1,000 points and asked 10, 100 point questions today and tomorrow selected the best answers, I'd have 2,000 points. If I took those points and asked 20, 100 point questions tomorrow and selected the best answers the next day, I'd have 4,000 points. If I continued in this path, I would own the world in a month, or $100.
Maybe we should just offer a set amount of points for asking questions.
"Maybe we should just offer a set amount of points for asking questions."
That's what I thought I said. I'm not saying increase the points for asking a question. Just give 10 points when we ask. That's it on the asking side.
The "also" in my statement referred to the fact that no matter if you get selected for best answer, you will get 10 points. So, give 10 points simply for posting a question.
Thank you!
Searchwarp can get more people to ask questions by more people giving answers. Its lonesome to have a question no one responds to. My Experimental Psychology Professor said that for each answer we find more questions arise. (...and he thought I wasn't listening:-)
Total Answers: 4, Total Page Views: 454.Let people vote on questions and answers (e.g. give a thumbs up for answers or questions they like, and a thumbs down for ones they don't)
This might help reward / encourage people to ask interesting questions and give interesting answers
Ben, some personality types may become sensitive and offended by getting a thumbs down on their answers/questions and drive them away.
On Yoohoo answers for example, the people didn't have a relationship or bio to read so they were anonymous and you could give them a thumbs down. The thumbs down was the polite part, the comments for what that person didn't like was far worse than a thumbs down. All because you chose an avatar and were anonymous.
It wouldn't bother me or you but perhaps others. What do you think?
