Generally, you have. But you can be unique and creative also. Even that works.
Not always. Depends on where they're headed and if it's the direction you want to go anyway.
Follow your business plan, not the crowd. But, inform your business plan with a good understanding of the market (crowd) and current trends. Most people want to be on the Leading Edge, not the Bleeding edge. Following the crowd will put you in the back of the pack.

Most successful entrepreneurs use to say: "Niche to get Rich"
If you follow the crowd you need to push your product into a market with a lot of competion, applying what sometimes is called substitution marketing. This means your product should be better, cheaper or more beautiful than those of your competitors.
Just be yourself and do the things the way you want too. Following the crowd is not always such a good idea because whatever area of business you decide to go in may already be saturated. Try to be unique and go your own way.
No , there is no defined formula for success you will have to figure out the strengths of your business and decide what is right for you.
Whatever it takes to beat the competition then go.
» Answer from Josh Matnik Answer given 2 years 209 days ago.yes learn from the crowed as in what didn't work or did, but never follow in the foot steps as to be successful you need to be original.
You first of all need to define what success is to you. If it's money, how's the crowd doing, are they average, are they rich? It has been said that if you want to be successful, then hang around with successful people. You are the sum total of your environment. I would say from a personal point of you, be true to yourself, do what is you, and if that means breaking away from the crowd to be successful than go for it. But again, you first need to define what success means to you.
No! NEVER! There are many reasons for this answer....but let's look at one that I come across a lot (Pricing) A lot of business people price their products or services to beat, or compete, with the competition. Don't try that! (I'm not saying to price yourself out of the market) but, Understand break-even and many other financial tools that will engineer your profits rather than make them residual as most business owners do. And always be unique. Define your USP.
You could but don't have to.If you got a good plan follow it and forget the crowd.
It depends. If it means following welll established business practices, providing honest, gracious service, then follow the crowd. If it means work hard, be industrious, be creative, treat your employees with fairness and respect, then follow the crowd. However, I feel today that such service is sometimes the exception, not the rule. Often today people do not follow honest business practices, but take advantage of customers whenever they can get away with it. Sales people frequently lie about their products, or at least shade the truth. Not every business person is industrious nor creative, and many do not treat their employees fairly or with respect. That is a crowd I do not want to follow.
If you follow the herd you're sure to step into something.
Be remarkable. That's all.
To follow the crowd means that you probably have a successful business model because they wouldn't be doing it if they weren't making money. However unless you can distinguish yourself, or as the old marketing saying goes, have a USP (unique selling proposition), then you will battle against the established players.
Identify the market space you want to play in and research it well - you will need to give your customers/clients a reason to choose you over your competitors - find something that makes you stand out. This might mean being different but as long as you can back it up you'll be fine.
Ask any succesful business person and they'll tell you that following the crowd is not the approach you want to take if you want to be successful. If you're following the crowd, you may have already missed the boat. You may be trying to pursue a business that's highly saturated. If there's too much competition, and you don't offer something unique, success is not likely to come. You need to be different in order to be successful. Different can mean many things: a unique product, better service than your competition, better prices than your competition, better marketing than your competition, etc.
Yes you should...
In order to get more customers...
No, if you follow the crowd, then the entire crowd will be your competition. It is the people that step outside the box that become successful.
