How do you make southern fried okra?

Go to your garden and pick the okra when it is ready--be prepared for ichy arms. Wash the okra you have picked. Slice it, put the slices into a bowl of milk with salt and black pepper added, remove okra from milk and put into a covered bowl of corn meal, shake bowl to cover okra well with corn meal. Then place okra into a heated skillet of cooking oil and fry until well browned on all sides--stirring occassionally.

P.S. Put this fried okra on a plate with brown beans, poke salad, and cornbread and you have a truly delightful Southern fried dinner!!!!
