Mahatma Gandhi. He inspired leaders all over the world to follow non-violence and especially today when the world is ridden with terrorism and religious intolerance, people are starting to remember him all the more.

I would have to say, "Jesus". He has more followers--even after death than any person I have ever heard of and He is featured in a Book which I think may be read more than any other book in history.
