In the Uk the age of consent re sex is 16yrs old, do you think it should be changed..and if so what age would you change it to?

yes boys and girls...do you have a reason re the 21yr age limit? What would married couples do? Marriage age in UK is 16..should we increase this also?
in 15 up to 21 as well people don't have a stable character. i think if any one is going to do something only the desire isn't the reason to permission. I think such decisions must be based on rigid kind of reasoning.

Some people know themselves better than others and can handle sex and relationships at 16. Now that I'm older and looking back, I wished I would have waited until 30 before even dating, but that's just me. I live in Nevada and the age of consent is also 16. Contrary to popular belief, prostitution is only legal here in rigidly defined areas and everyone involved has to be over 18.
Hmm, 16 years old and deciding about sex? Before anyone turns 16, EVERYONE should be given a lot of information, classes, courses and answers about sex, babies, diseases and the psychological consequences of ANY human relations. A lot of adults could use more information, too!
As far as I know, in the US the age of consent to sex is 18 for the most part. I don't know about you but at 18 I still wasn't really mature enough to decide if I wanted to have sexual intercourse.
Kids are always wanting to do those things that are forbidden to them and honestly, I often think that is the sole reason they have sex at ages earlier than what is considered reasonable by the law. And it could be that some 16 year olds ARE mature enough to decide for themselves. Nevertheless, there is really no way to stop them if they are determined enough.
Truthfully, I think laws regarding the age of consent are made mainly to protect children from the depredations of adults and for that reason I think the age of consent should be set as high as is reasonable to a particular culture.
I think it should stay at 16 because a lot of kids that age don't know how to say no or even that they're allowed to.

South American and Islamic countries have that age of consent down to fourteen, as well as a few Southern states here, in the US of A.
