I think anything is possible. I think a person can learn to write about something or in a way that has no bearing on their innate personality. Writing is a skill than can be honed and trained. True, there are some natural born writers who write from the heart, but even then there is always room to learn to do it better. A shallow and repulsive person can be a great chef or physicist or whatever. Brilliance isn't limited to niceness.
I truly think so. Not only a poet but a doctor can be so repulsive or anyone else at one time or another, Tharuna.
Of course it depends on what his poetry says.... If it is completely different from his daily actions and ways, I'd say that he is not, for some reasons, living according to his true nature. This is a good and interesting question- Thanks-Ella
Most certainly, Tharuna, in fact, many profound and deeply sensitive writers and poets have been brutishly antisocial and horrid curmudgeons, privately.
There appears to be an inverse relationship between "brilliance" on paper and "shallow and repulsive", in actuality; I do not know why this is so true.

Brilliant? Deep? Shallow? Repulsive? All these are a sliding scale. Personal traits are favored or not by individual tastes. I can't bear a religious fanatic, some people love that trait so much they will follow it to their doom. Perhaps a poet puts so much into their work that there is nothing left for their social engagements. A literary idiot savant could have such defined divisions of life and intellect that the average person can never understand such pin point focus. And it takes a special person to see these two sides and live with it, whether it is the artist or the observer. An example of this dichotomy is where a horror writer has a loving home life, or a love song writer is a spouse abuser. Human nature cannot be predicted, but if you look at it the right way -- it can be a constant source of amusement.
Of course he can! Just because he is naturally talented does not mean that he has to behave in any certain manner. Never expect anything and never be disappointed.
Sure...talent is seperate from personality.
