Answers to this question:If the vehicle was made before the time of designated seat belts, it is not required by law. It's still a great idea to have seat belts -- just because you are a good driver doesn't mean everyone else is. I think the seat belts were in cars around the mid 60s as an option but it was the 70s when they really came into vogue. Most safety features were not from safety tests but in duplicating what expensive cars offered. Safer cars were just a sideline, what really drove the industry was sales. There was an acceptable percentage of deaths and usually it was blamed on the driver, not the car. Scary early days of driving.
Total Answers: 2, Total Page Views: 601.That's a fabulous question, and soemthing that would be a good thing to fight for in court. I'm sure if you don't pay for the ticket and show up at court instead it would more than likely be thrown out.
