What mammal do you nominate for the world's ugliest mammal?

I think most mammals are attractive and their babies are cute but recently I saw a short bit on PBS about naked mole rats. I nominate them ... and their babies ... for the ugliest mammal in the world.

My ex husband - The one I'm writing about

Oh OK, Dianne, if you really want a four legged animal, it'll be hard to pick one after that monstrosity - just wait - you'll see - I would have to nominate naked mole rats too. I was going to say warthogs, but the babies are way too cute. And I like animals.

I like animals too ... a lot. And if I knew a naked mole rat, I would probably like it ... just not like LOOKING at it. :)

Warthogs are pretty funny looking, but not (in my estimation) ugly. Of course "ugly" is a judgement call.

You've mentioned a few things in the past about your ex and I did stipulate mammal and not the number of legs so we could let that one stand. :)

I call it as I see it. That one slipped out kinda sorta. To me the ex and my boss at Travelers, you know the lets get rid of anyone but me boss, are ugly to the bone. To me ugliness is not looks alone, it's the innards, the character of the creature, that makes it ugly. Animal doesn't really know "ugly" in that sense of the word, hence those two 2-legged ones.

I can't find any animals ugliest and vicious than (sorry, not a 4-legged) SNAKES. Even their babies are scary to me.

Snakes are our enemies (in the bible it says) So, it's confirmed.

Hilda, I understand your sentiment, but I did stipulate "mammal" and a snake is not a mammal.

But working from your point, I have to say that I find most snakes to be very attractive. And I have always had to wonder if God put everything on this planet, including snakes, why are they evil? I mean, why would God do that. I've always felt that it was a human thing ... this distrust of snakes. Oh well, that's just me. Always being contrary. :) You know, like the nursery rhyme: "Mistress Mary, quite contrary, how does your garden grow? With silver bells and cockle shells and pretty maids all in a row." I'm not all together certain about that last little part and I certainly wouldn't be planting people in MY garden!

Dianne, I think that's my part of the fear about snakes, personally speaking. A lot of people like snakes but just not me this woman. I am scared to death by even a tiny stripe shape of a worm or anything that's crawling ........

I would love to ward off this fear factor of mine if possible...

Luckily for me, there aren't really any animals that cause me fear that isn't rational (it's wise to be "afraid" of, say, a wild tiger :)). Insects and spiders don't really bother me either. I don't know why that is ... it just is. Now riding a canter on "my" horse is another matter. That scares me ... although less lately ... because I have been confronting it and just doing it ... fairly badly :) ... but doing it. I think the only way to get over a fear is to continually confront it. Not always easy to do.

Ahhh. Really? She's not that bad. At least she's got all her teeth. Sorry. :) Living near a small town in Arizona that is frequented by folks from even smaller towns ... well you see a lot of toothless grins. So around here, you hear that from time to time.

Those Hairless Chinese Crested dogs are reeeaaallllly ugly too!

Oooh! I've seen those. Actually met one in person. That was quite a few years ago. I've matured since then. :) But unfortunately, at the time I asked the woman who had carried the dog into the shop where I was working what was wrong with her dog. :)

I think hairless cats rank right up there for ugly as well. See ... we've got a hairless thing going on. :)
