Answers to this question:Yes probably you have to buy an antivirus, although there are some free scanners on the internet like AVG free edition, avast free edition or kaspersky, etc... But these are free and don't have as much tools to protect your pc from viruses, trojan horses, worms, it doesn't add an internet shield, registry cleaner or other things.
Most of the time when you buy yourself a brand new laptop or desktop, it will come with Windows installed and you'll receive a free trial period of, let's say 30 to 60 days and afterwards they expect you to buy it.
Thing you could do is, install a Linux platform like Ubuntu, Mint or OpenSuse, then everything or almost everything is freeware/shareware. Doesn't cost you a dime and is much more stable.
You could install it next to your Windows, so that every time you turn on your computer, you have the choice to bootup Windows or to boot up Linux!
yes so beware when you buy a computer ask about when th security is up or due and do you hv 2 purchase a package later?!
