Well, my answer is Bruce Williams. Quite the radio broadcast history indeed. Voted as the 6th best radio personality ever. And, he had many other accomplishments to his credit.

I grew up on the West Coast of Washington during World War ll and so I don't think I have ever heard him. However, it is pretty cool that in his biography, he melted down lead pipes during the War and he was a salesman in High School.

I am not near his stature but he and I do share two close activities. I also melted down lead pipes at the Wars end and I sold magazines in High School to help support my family. Times were hard and all.

I hope I have answered the right personality. No matter though, I love talk radio and this question gave me some radio history I hadn't known about. Thank you David for a thouthful question.

Ah ha. . .my wife just came home and she said, Red Skelton. . .

Yes, Red said, "May God Bless" after each show. I lived to watch Red Skelton. I wanted to be a joke guy like him. . .thank you Kathy.

so, my. . .ok, her answer is Red Skelton. I think Bruce Williams always played the song, "God Bless America" and my guess is that it was sung my Kate Smith. . .the best singer from my day.

Ok, David that's my final answer.
