Why is he called the Lone Ranger if Tonto is always with him?

Did Tonto have a tribe or nation from which he was exiled from?

I always thought it was because he stood outside of the law. As to why Tonto stuck with him, I've no idea. Maybe he was outcast. I loved that show as a kid ... mainly for the horses. But I've also always been fond of the idea of "super" heroes and the Lone Ranger fit that bill for me. I also liked "Sky King" and the "Roy Rogers Show." Happy trails to you!

Hmmm? I like the idea of a mask. Got any good ideas of what it should be? Big hugs to you, Paul!

I dont think he knew Tonto was with him half the time being blinkered like that (mask). And anyway was he really the lone ranger, or was he "kimosabi" (spelling could be wrong.)

P.S. Paul hope you are well after that bad bout you had with your back.

I think that they were bush lovers; when sexy sheep, cowgirls and squaws weren't around, Tonto wasn't as alone as you'd want to believe.

Broke back mountain had its origins in these two lovers; just like Sherlock and Watson, Batman and Batboy and the Green Lantern and Kato, these two were in each other's arms; "KIMOSABI", meant 'horsing around' with a white man.

My back is comprised of all herniated discs; spinal disease seems prevalent with alien abductees and I do not know exactly why this seems to be true of almost all such people 'taken'..

Bless your British heart for asking.

Hi Paul no need for the thank you i.e. "Bless your British heart for asking" I meant it sincerely - as a friend I was concerned.

Stay safe

Well, it was played down quit a bit, but Dan, the Lone Ranger, had just been divorced by his third wife. One of the "think tank" crew, when they were starting to put the Lone Ranger series together, said that since Dan was so lonely being single. . .why not call him the Lone Ranger. Well, the rest is history. Oh and Tonto. . .Tonto had a small silver mine on the side and Dan and him formed the "Happy Ranger Mine" company. They ah, figured that miners that stay together don't get into trouble come "divy-up" time.
