Rejection, injustice, malice. I guess I'm overly sensitive, but it's easy for me to project myself onto others, and when I see someone else who is sad, it often makes me sad.

Bruce, I like the word " project " here. It sounds positive. I think we cannot focus too much on sadnesses that make us even sadder because sadness does have a contagious effect. I see you cry, I cry, is most common at funeral services, airport farewell etc....

A lot of things make me sad. I look at others and think about how they must be feeling and find myself feeling sad. But then I wonder, are they sad about it?

So let's see ... seeing someone who is addicted to drugs makes me sad. Seeing someone work really hard for something and then have it not turn out the way they wanted makes me sad. I always feel badly for the losers in a competition. I want everyone to win!

If I had the time, I could probably sit here and come up with a hundred things that make me sad. I will say this though, there are very few things that I personally experience that make me sad about myself or my life. I might get frustrated sometimes, but if I'm lucky that just fires me up to try harder. Sometimes I feel defeated, but if I'm lucky ... ditto. When I feel sadness coming on for myself, when I start to feel sorry for myself, that's when I scold myself and tell myself to buck up and get on with it. I've no idea where I got that response, but it's served me fairly well over the years. Maybe it came from my dad. Anyway, out of time ... lots to do today.

There are lots of things that make me sad; cruelty, injustice, ignorance, prejudice. But sometimes I'm sad for apparently no reason at all, I just am, and that's the worst kind of sad.

Brianna, I feel sad when I can't concentrate on writing , feeling drained. There goes with a reason that I feel sad. Anyhow, life must go on so let's start smiling .

Life is a merry-go-round, after all !

Seeing children and animals who are unprotected. Seeing people who seem lost within themselves or lonely. I feel empathy for them, but their situation also reminds me of my own and those parts of me that are still sore. And honestly? I think the sadness I feel is for myself. So I agree with Bruce about the projection, and also with Dianne. I see somebody who I think is suffering, but maybe they're aren't. All I can really know is that I am!

No one person never suffers some kind of sadness so sadness is normal but we do not want to focus or prolong this state of mind. Hopefully, we can get rid of it by all means.
