How to earn money using the internet when you are travelling across different countries?

I would like to know what would be the best way to access the internet while travelling across Asian countries. I plan to take off on the road for about 3 months and yet continue to keep working. For this, I need daily access to the net. Which devices would be help me gain personal access to the net. I heard satellite prepaid is very expensive.

Good question, as far as I know VSAT is the only globally available satellite internet available, but the hard was is large and expensive, and so are the monthly bills.

I don't know what the availability of WiFi hotspots would be like where you are planning on traveling, but probably the most economical thing would be a phone with Internet service and the ability to connect to WiFi when it's available.

I'd love to be able to travel while earning a living from the net. Unfortunately we've got kids that need a home base, otherwise Jean and I would be constantly traveling.

I realized that satellite internet would be expensive and also in countries like Vietnam, Cambodia and Burma, I don't think the accessibility is really advanced. So when I am on the road for days together, passing through villages and the country side, I am sure that I won't get good coverage. Wi fi might be a possibility only in Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore. It's been a long dream of mine to hit the road through Asia. BlackBerry could be good I guess.

I'm not exactly sure how it works DM but why wouldn't you be able to get an internet connection with a modem from your cell phone provider for your laptop, like Verizon, or AT&t, etc. Might want to check with Virgin Mobile, aren't these services accessible worldwide?
