I've learned that the nicest people in public can be really nasty while sitting behind a computer terminal. You've heard of beer muscles? Folks arguing on the Internet get broadband muscles.
Apt metaphor Kurt....
Great question, Ella.
I've gained a lot of faith in people from everybody I've met here and come to know. I experience love, friendship, acceptance, humor, a lot of tolerance, honesty, courage, vulnerability, vision. When the odd person has attacked me I've been defended. It's made me feel that the world is not an entirely dangerous place :) I was very isolated before I joined. But I was ready to come back out into the world, and SearchWarp was the place I landed!
I've learned a lot about my own filters, fears and prejudices. Hmm, not so much fun. I misinterpret things people say - because I'm tired or upset - or simply because I can't hear their tone of voice. So in fact I'm just hearing myself! Oops...
And I've become very aware lately of how cultural differences can make it so hard for people to relate to each other. What one person thinks is okay, another person thinks is not. And who's to say which is right?
A Jenniferesque answer---Attentive- intelligent- discriminating-equitable...as you know; I could go on and on....LOL- thanks Jenn.
Yeah, this is a great question!
I've learned so many things. One big thing that's been made much more obvious to me is that people on the other side of the World are just like me. I've also learned that there are nice people and mean people everywhere.
The two sides of the world's coin...duality of Earth. Thanks- Bruce.
I know, because of the internet, that there are, despite what I know from my own somewhat limited personal experience outside the internet, intelligent people walking this Earth.
Because if I went by most of the people that I know outside of the internet (minus my few close friends and family) I would be extremely disappointed in humanity.
Your attention is greatly appreciated Sydney.... you're doing well......already wise beyond your years...
If you are like the half-cooked egg and you want to taste the goodness of the Internet (Google love) you are bound to suffer negatively but if you only just follow your passion like we are here with Searchwarp, (money is not an issue) then we really have a good time with people of the same interest.
Thanks Hilda- SearchWarp is indeed a comforting cradle......

I've learned it's possible to become friends with people I've never met face-to-face and establish real connections, even though some are on the other side of the world. I've learned we're basically all the same. Everyone means well, everyone is fighting their own demons, living their life, loving, laughing, crying, doing the best they can. I've learned there's a lot of compassion out there. The internet can be a scary place, but as with everything, there's a whole other side to it, and it's good.
Right on Brianna- you said it all- how could you have ever thought that you are not cool? You are what cool really means!
Hmmmmm. I like the sounds of that Ella. Very cool! :)
I believe the internet is a wonderful thing for mankind. If there are no pictures of people you are conversing with, you have no bigotry and all is colorblind. Plus you may learn of other cultures and your mind is expanded. I hope my older generation will take a clue from this wonderful phenomenon.
Total Answers: 8, Total Page Views: 1,056.I've learned so many things in the internet. I also met my long lost friends whom I haven't seen for a long time. It's amazing when you are just sitting in your room alone, but you feel like you've been to other places, by reading the news and searching places through Google.
