I haven't come across a scripture that said so. DM. So No !
Okay. Even if you had come across, what then?
I don't "blindly believe" anything........... The mind that questions everything, is our natural God given, if you will, mind- I call it a Free mind- not enslaved to any one else's ideologies and conclusions-but continually growing its own processes- as it was naturally meant to-
Exactly Ella!
Short answer: No. I try not to BLINDLY believe anything. I realize some people call that faith, but I'm just not made that way.
Perfectly said, Dianne. We must always question the truth.
I asked my 7 year old nephew that question once. I said "what came first the chicken or the egg.?" He said the chicken I said where did the chicken come from?He thought for a moment then said "God made the chicken" That answer was good enough for me.
Everything is from God, and the kid was right. But who is that God? A state of the mind? A way to call that supreme self in one word? I like you answer the way you put it. :-)
Ella said exactly what I will say, "I don't believe anything blindly." I'm afraid that I would have been the doubting Thomas of the apostles. It's my nature to question and find my own way. And we have yet to agree that the egg came before the chicken. Who laid the egg?
You need to be the doubting Thomas and surely that is an example to all of us. Spiritual masters always tell their disciples not to believe anything blindly, including what their masters teach must be question and doubted. :-) Thank you.
My present knowledge of chicken and formation of eggs will say NO,
but if the holy scripture is from the bible, then YES, I will believe it. From my walk with God, whatever He says is always true. I may not understand it at first but when I believe it and walk in it, I always see it come out as the truth.
The truth is that if the bible had said so, it would have been so even physically now, because God who inspired the writing of the bible created the chicken and the eggs and would have made it to be so from the beginning.
That explains the root cause of your belief system. :-) Thank you.
What about interpretation?
Nope. I have been done for blasphemy in past lifes, apparently but still have not learned my lesson.
What if I say the egg is the cosmos and we are the chicken? Would that be blasphemy? :D
