Great question Hilda. You got me thinking on this. Poor or rich, there is no fault in this. We are all born to live life, learn from it, support each other and get the better of our imperfections and evolve spiritually. Poor or rich is just a state of the mind just like any other situation in life. We just continue exist between the many polarities that hold this dimension together known as 'Life'.

Ok. DM. I accept your answer. Very well phrased. Born poor is nobody's fault. Let's see others....

Even if nothing is our fault, if we accept every single thing as our fault and feel sorry for it, there is nothing present to stop us and way better, everything will work for us.

I did not mind born being poor because I had so much (rich) love from my parents and siblings. Dying poor would be my biggest fault but that would not happen because I am so enriched with experiences in life, both happy and sad. Friends that enlivened me and different culture that enriched me, special people in my life who cared, and people's lives that influenced me and me influencing them in my own simple ways.

Thought-provoking question, Hilda.

It's your fault if you do not recognize your own worth- as a human being who has unlimited potential to love, unlimited ability to learn and unlimited potential to think.

That's right Jack. Many a time we humans forget about our worthiness which is already inside of us (given) yet not utilized until a long time............

Being born, into any life status or class or ethnicity - what have you, is not your fault. It is your destiny. I say being born poor, while it is not your fault, is certainly going to test your mettle because, ultimately, it is up to you and primarily you to make something of yourself. You may be poor but you are still human. You have hands, feet, and a thinking cognizant brain. If you are lucky enough to have been born in America or are living in America, then all kinds of opportunities are yours to learn about, discover, and get help with. I don't buy I was born poor and lived poor and cannot get out blah blah blah. Sure, this will be a hindrance and make it very difficult but by the same token offers you a lot of help, aid and assistance because, ultimately, Americans are unbelievably generous and will help.

Nothing at birth really is your fault. As you get older and learn right from wrong, you will make innocent or deliberate mistakes. You begin to be accountable for what you do. If you resort to lying, cheating and thieving, that is your deliberate fault. If you break laws, that is your fault. If you make bad decisions, the results of those decisions may well turn out poorly and may become your fault (be decision default - if that makes any sense). Anyway, we are all accountable, and if we do something that goes awry, it will turn out to be our fault.

That's very aptly put Gray Mare. (Don't we already have a title for our next article ?) Born poor, for example, in other side of the world or in any part of the world, really is not anybody's fault. I can't go in deeper detail here but the moon is brighter in other planet, that depends. After all, there is only one moon. hahaha......

What you stressed is agreeable indeed. I also believe , you reap what you sow. You alone are responsible and cannot blame the world or somebody else for your wrong.

Very insightful explanation GM !

Being born poor is not our fault-but maybe staying that way is.....especially if you live in America....

All that you do after being born - especially in the years after you leave your parents home. There are many examples of people that were poor and became very successful. (Oprah, Whoopi Goldbert, and even Glenn Beck who hit rock bottom). None of these folks did it by having pity parties for themselves.

The trouble with seeing yourself as a "victim" of poverty (or anything else for that matter) is that you're giving away your own power to change. It is much more empowering to decide to take control of your life, accept responsibility for what happens to you and know that you can become successful if you really work at it persistantly.

That's right Kerry. And I have read many good examples like what you said. Born poor but rich through the years of hard work & effort & even "luck" . All these can happen.
