I have written abook about my life in color coded South Africa. I trancended my oppression to become who I am not because of apartheid but in spite of it. My book is about not getting stuck in your past but moving on to overcome challenges, and I did. I am doing book talks and professional development training based on my book. What else can I do?
Answers to this question:Set up a website if you haven't already and collect email address for staying in touch with readers.
Commence a blog in a community like BlogCatalog and write articles to do with your subject matter or development training course. Use this to join social network sites. Put a home-made camcorder recording on YouTube. Join ezine articles as an expert author.
You have actually done a lot in promoting your book (not e book, right ?) So now is the time to put it up on the market to sell. People should have known about it already. Perhaps you can attach a coupon of some sort for every purchase that entitles buyer to a discount or a drink (below $5)
Just need to think of other interesting ways to attract people to dig deep their pocket.
Learn how to market on the internet. Use blogs, create a website, get involved in communities like Facebook, Twitter, and even create a YouTube video. You will reach more people on the net nowadays than anywhere else.
I almost forgot. Do what you already have done. Get involved on Searchwarp. This is a great place to get people to find you.
You setup your own website and promote your book via a website. Once on your website, marketing via Google Adwords and Yahoo Search Marketing. After that, use free methods to drive traffic to your website via article marketing (ex. Searchwarp) and video marketing (ex. Youtube). You will want to start your own blog where you dish your own personal ideas about themes and topics related to your book. You should also consider putting it on Lulu.com to have it on Amazon.com. Good luck with your book promotion.
Internet marketing. Start a blog and promote it with article marketing, video marketing, forum participation, online press releases, free teleseminars and join ventures with others who share a similar market. Who is already reaching your market yet does not have the same product that you can work with to do a seminar, teleseminar or other project with? On your blog, make sure you have a way to collect names and emails. Offer something to them to entice them to give up their information to you (such as a recording of the teleseminar).
Can you succinctly answer the question, "Who is in your niche?" When you know this, you'll be able to find these people more easily.
Probably a cut down version submitted as an article to Search Warp would help and gain a lot of interest.
Promote it via your accounts in facebook, twitter, linkedin etc.
Let people have the first part for free when they register their details with you. they may then buy the book but you can also then offer it to them at a discount later.
Read the book, "1001 Ways to Market your Book" by John Kremmer. It is the bible of book marketing.
I used this book as a guide for promoting my book, "Secrets of Power Marketing". My book reached bestseller status in Canada within the first six months. The book is also published in the US and at least seven countries.
By the way, the best time to start marketing your book is not after you wrote it but before you even start writing it. Of course the next best time is after you wrote it.
Good luck.

» Answer from Anne Erasmus Answer given 1 year 180 days ago.Apart from all the other web-based ideas here, you could also write a press release and submit it to the many online PR directories - some free, some not so free. As far as I know, you can also sell your own books on Amazon?
You can get it published for free on Amazon Kindle, make 70% profit on the cover and price and get publicity that way. My ebooks sell about 4 a month. Big deal you think? That's still 4 lots of 70% of cover price that people are paying because they stumbled across my work, so I am selling stuff whilst I sleep! Type in Amazon DTP on google and start there. Formatting the book is a bit of a pain but once its up you can say "its on amazon"!

Set up a website with links to your training and book talks. You could set up to self publish through amazon and link it to your site or start approaching publishers. It sounds like you've got a good product on your hands.
Isn't that part of wht searwarp does? or contact Bruce?

A blog will give your readers the opportunity to connect with you and discuss the book. It's also a great place that fans of your book can direct others too and link to from social media sites like facebook, twitter etc.
