Start searching and inquiring new opportunity, from good trusted friends and newspaper (now you can try Yahoo) May be that's the time I need to figure out for my good self to establish my own profession . After all, you can't work for people forever and waiting for the doomsday to explode.

Sometimes bad news means good news !

You may well discover yourself !

Hilda, that's positive in all ways, thank you for sharing such a spirit.

Right: using contacts, asking one self the right questions: What I want? Where do I want to get to?, etc.

I wouldn't call them bad news but: new challenges.

Discovering one's self... What a great thing!!! =) Nice week!

It's hard to move forward in life when it is full of uncertainties - Ive personally been quite free spirited and open minded to new ideas. I ahve no qualms about taking on a second job, evening job or starting my own business.

I think people should always try to chase their dreams and eventually spend their working life doing somethign they love - gain as many skills in that are aof life aspossible so you can always have work to fall back on - this can be a job,a hobby, college or a business - immerse yourself and be happy.. you only get one life.

Shaun, being open minded certainly would help to find ways for solutions, that applies for anything in life, not just loosing a job. By focusing on the solution, and not the problem the person has a higher possibility for finding whatever might help.

It's good to be open for a second job or a business. A balance of the advantages and the outcomes will show up answers for best decisions.

I agree with you we all should have dreams and pursue for them. It's been said that when you work in something you love, you hardly call it a job. Gaining skills certainly opens doors for new ideas and of course you enjoy learning. Thanks for your answer.

I have found out that NO job is for sure. I best thing is to keep debt load down, save, save, save.

Eric, I agree with you. Jobs are no SAFE any more. But instead of saving and saving, I personally would try to invest and invest.

Personally, I would go into business for myself. Have you considered freelance work? Services like 99designs (for designers), elance, and odesk all allow you to work virtually. Personally, I would figure out how to leverage the labor pool on those sites rather than providing my own services.

Rain, good thing that entrepreneur mind. Though, I'd rather would look for a system instead of being self employed, as I don't agree with exchanging time for money. If you figure as you well say how to leverage the labor, then you've found your system!

Polish up your resume and start looking for something else. Don't get desparate but be active in hunting jobs that you would actually prefer.

"The only constant thing is change". Under the economic turmoil we live in nowadays nothing is certain anymore! When I ran out of money at some point after immigrating to Canada, I worked in Coffee Time! Although I hold a bachelors degree, I was having such a blast. Since then, nothing worries me.

Heba, you've got the attitude!!! First thing: Not to worry but occupy yourself in the solution of things. I'm glad you've learned from experience that change is always there.

I'm not sure, Look for a new one and go back to school. That would be a good plan.

If I had a job that was not sure, I would keep continuing searching for one. I would also do some part-time work in the mean time so I still have a minimum income when the day of my termination comes.

These days nothing is certain and it is always a good idea to have a back up plan. This way you don't rely on your job too heavily to meet all your needs, including emotional. If you study or have a back up plan then if things look threatening you have got something to fall back on,like writing or gardening and just be open to opportunities that may come your way.
