yes, this article was helpful to me because i needed to know what all to start training for before hand. i am still young and still have 8 years until i can even join the service, but it is one of my goals to become the first girl green beret. its good to get a head start. thanks for the help.As far as I know, special forces positions are not open to females. You might want to look into that before you decide to devote that much time to training for something that you may not even be able to do.you know why there hasnt been a girl sf soldier? Because only males are allowed to become an sf soldier. just wanted to let you know, maybe you should look into something else. One of the requirements are that you HAVE to be male.Girls can't join the green beretsGirls are not allowed to be in a combat-related position...thats why girls can't be in special forcesJamie,Don't ever let these people say they know what you can do.God willing you'll make it.They may say these things written down on paper, but look at the situation. You are an American,in the land of the free, and in the home of the brave.Dammit if you didnt try this, you would only be letting the American motto down.Go be the first girl Green Beret,I have absolute faith in you.The Green Berets are combat arms (obviously). Combat arms duty MOS's are off limits to women. Sorry but your goal is inconceivable.
No special forces programs are open to females at this time, if you want to hang it out there though start swimming, the coast guard rescue swimmers welcome qualified females with open arms
Colud I join the green berets at the age of 18 with no current background of any army training?Nope, it goes Join Army -> Join Rangers (Ranger School and Airborne) -> Then APPLY, not join, Green Berets. Overall should be done in a few yearsRanger School is NOT a requirement for SF training. My son is graduating next month. He's at Robin Sage right now. He was 82nd Airborne and most if not all SF are Airborne to my knowledge. Some but not all have Ranger tabs. Rangers are NOT part of Special Ops. Depending on your MOS most of the training lasts about a year.Wrong. The Army has the 18x program. They are known as the x-rays. Talk to a recruiter about the 18x ray program. You can enlist off the street, and go straight into the pipeline.
you have to be a male, at least 20 years old, with an asvab score of at least 80 or higher and technical scores of at least 130. Then you have to finish bootcamp before you are able to start the selection courses for SF.Wrong, general technical score must be 110 and above, as well as a combat operation score of 100 and above, as well as a AFQT of 50 and above...check with your recruiter as there are waivers for almost anything
