Tell Us A Dream

Tell Us A Dream by Gregory Lewis
Dreams were meant to be explored.

Dream exploration is older than history. In the Book of Genesis, Joseph said that the understanding of dreams came from God. Vienna psychologist Sigmund Freud considered dreams to be repressed wishes, while his student Carl Jung believed dreams link us to eternal mind. Still others observe dreams as angelic or demonic messages, or even spirit travel.

Perhaps a better way of approaching dream exploration is hinted at by the Jewish mystics, who view dreams as something that can be explained on several levels, not just one. Dream interpretation is like a finger pointing to the moon. The interpreter can only point; it is the dreamer who must see.

Give as full a description of your dream as you can. Write it down or speak it to yourself upon waking. How did you feel during the dream? How did you feel waking up from the dream? What do some of the images mean to you, personally?
